Cookie Notice

This Cookie Notice has been prepared by Kolay Yazılım Anonim Şirketi (“Data Controller” or “Kolay İK”) as data controller, pursuant to Article 10 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“PDPL”) and the Communiqué on Principles and Procedures for Fulfilling the Obligation to Inform.

The purpose of this Cookie Notice is to inform you about the processing of personal data obtained automatically through the placement of cookies used on our website on your device, including which types of cookies we use and for what purposes, and how you can manage these cookies.

A. What is a cookie?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device or network server by the websites you visit via your computer or mobile device.

B. What type of data is processed in cookies?

The cookies on our website may hold browsing and user preferences of the device used to visit the site, depending on the types described below. Such data covers information about the pages you access, the services and products you browse, your language preference and other preferences.

C. Types of Cookies We Use and Their Purposes

You can find information about the types of cookies we use on our website and our purposes for processing data through these cookies below. Details about which specific cookies we use and their retention periods can be found in the ‘Information’ section of our cookie management panel. You can access our cookie management panel at any time, even after making your initial cookie preferences, via the ‘Cookie Preferences’ link in the bottom right corner of our website.

Cookie types by storage duration

1. Session Cookies

Session cookies are temporary cookies that are deleted when you close your browser and are not permanent. They are used for purposes such as protecting the security and continuity of the site and of you as a user.

2. Persistent Cookies

These cookies help remember your information, such as account login details, and your choices, such as browsing habits. Persistent cookies remain stored in the browser folders on your device even after you close the browser you used to visit our site or restart your computer. You can delete these persistent cookies from your browser settings. More detailed instructions on how to do this in the browsers we recommend are provided via the links in section F below, titled ‘How can you control the use of cookies’.

Cookies by party

1. First-party and Third-party Cookies

First-party cookies are cookies used by our site and placed directly by the webpage the user is visiting. They are generally used to remember your preferences or to enhance site functionality. Third-party cookies are cookies placed on your computer by parties other than our site. They are generally used to improve the user experience and are not used maliciously. Both first-party and third-party cookies are used on our website.

Cookie types by purpose

1. Strictly Necessary (Essential) cookies (Always active)

Essential cookies are those required for the website to function properly. They are used to ensure the system is managed correctly, for user accounts to be created and for users to log in, to prevent fraudulent transactions, and to remember privacy preferences. These cookies may also be used to fulfil our legal obligations and to exercise rights arising from applicable legislation. Without these cookies, the website will not function properly.

2. Preference cookies (Optional)

Preference cookies are functional cookies used by the website to remember your preferences and for personalisation purposes.

3. Analytics cookies (Optional)

Analytics cookies are analytical cookies that collect information anonymously and report it to help understand how visitors interact with our website. These cookies contain information that allows us to see which of our pages attract more interest and which resources are viewed more, to observe traffic on our sites and tailor our services accordingly, and to enable statistical measurement to analyse user behaviour.

4. Advertising and Marketing cookies (Optional)

Marketing cookies are used to track website visitors. Their purpose is to show visitors advertisements relevant to their interests. Third-party advertising cookies may be placed on our website and mobile site, as well as on other websites where we advertise, so that we can recognise you and show you personalised ads. These cookies are also used to measure the effectiveness of our advertising.

D. Legal basis for data collection and processing via cookies

Your personal data collected through strictly necessary (essential) cookies, as categorised by purpose above, is processed under Article 5(2)(c) of the PDPL – “processing of personal data belonging to the parties to a contract being necessary, provided that it is directly related to the establishment or performance of the contract” –, Article 5(2)(ç) – “being mandatory for the data controller to fulfil its legal obligation” –, Article 5(2)(e) – “data processing being mandatory for the establishment, exercise or protection of a right” – and Article 5(2)(f) – “data processing being mandatory for the legitimate interests of the data controller, provided that the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject are not harmed”.

Your personal data collected through cookies other than strictly necessary (essential) cookies, as categorised by purpose above, is collected and processed on the basis of your explicit consent pursuant to Article 5(1) of the PDPL.

E. Transfer of personal data

Personal data collected through cookies is transferred to the relevant cookie providers, solely to the extent necessary to enable the cookie to carry out its function, for the purposes set out in Section C above. In addition, where authorised institutions and organisations request it, the personal data in question will also be transferred to the relevant institution or organisation for the purpose of meeting that request.

F. How can you control the use of cookies?

For cookies on our website other than strictly necessary (essential) cookies, visitors’ explicit consent is obtained via the cookie management panel that appears before them, and they are provided with the ability to change their consent at any time. Via the cookie management panel that appears when they first visit the website, and which can subsequently be accessed via the ‘Cookie Preferences’ link in the bottom right corner of our website, visitors can view the types of cookies used on our website, set their preferences for all cookies other than strictly necessary (essential) cookies using the ‘on’ or ‘off’ options, and change their cookie preferences at any time via this panel.
